Magnolia soulangiana
Saucer Magnolia

Nashville State Community College

The ones that had opened earlier this week were brown
from the freeze and snow. Many had just opened up but
as the story goes with Magnolia soulangiana today I'm
sure they have freeze damage from the 20 degree temps.

Love the silky texture and light. One of our first trees to flower here. Always pretty.

Bummers on the blooms - I think there will be lots of that this year unfortunately.

Beautiful magnolia image.

It's a fabulous colour. It seems so hard that these magnolias produce their magnificent blooms at the very time we have frosts.

Beautiful and beautiful color. I bought one yesterday for a spot where I lost a tree. I have two cats buried in that garden so it will be a nice flowering tree for their cemetery.

Beautiful, Scott. Two days ago mine were beautiful. They have since been fried by two overnight freezes.
