The jovial, yet serious melancholic atmosphere makes Basel Fasnacht a truly unique occasion. Starting on the Monday with ‘Morgenstreich. This is the official start of Fasnacht in Basel
followed by ‘Gugge music
Gugge musicBrass and percussion carnival band or music. Originally cacophonous, nowadays more harmonious Concerts on Tuesday and finishing on Wednesday with the ‘Endstreich’.

Der Höhepunkt im Jahr
Die Basler Fasnacht dauert drei Tage und beginnt am Montag nach Aschermittwoch der 1. Tag der 40tägigen Fastenzeit. . Für viele Basler und für diejenigen die als Kostümierte an der Fasnacht teilnehmen, sind es die drei schönsten Tage im Jahr und somit ein Höhepunkt.

Die heitere Ausgelassenheit und der zugleich ernsthafte, melancholische Charakter machen die Basler Fasnacht zu einem einzigartigen Anlass. Angefangen mit dem Montag und dem Morgenstreich. Die Fasnacht beginnt mit dem sogenannten Morgenstreich. über den Dienstag mit den Guggenkonzerten bis zum letzten Tag, dem Mittwoch mit dem Endstreich.
