Monarch Butterfly Larve Éclose

Monarch Butterfly Larve Éclose

Monarch Butterfly Larve Éclose (Hatching).

Monarch butterfly Release Project 2007. Egg no.1-006
MRP-07 Egg No.1-006

The Monarch larva (caterpillar) does not 'break-out' of its egg shell,
rather it eats its way out. The egg shell is a very good source of protein,
and after crawling out will turn around and finish eating the egg- its first meal.
