the rose you refer to is the east yorkshire rose as opposed to the west yorkshire rose that appears the same but a mirrored image of it with one petal at the top.

This is the rose worn/shown in leeds/sheffied area, its the traitors rose because during the war of the roses these areas traitored to the other side, so they cannot wear the white yorkshire rose.
As you can see it is the white yorkshire rose unbalanced and standing on a single petal.

It is a YORKSHIRE rose, as generally displayed in the East Riding of Yorkshire (historically)

This is not a Yorkshire Rose,
Although the Yorkshire Rose is whit, the Yorkshire Rose has three petals to the top and two to the bottom. Although I suppose it could be an upside down Yorkshire Rose.
